 Unbroken, 2023 · Porcelain, glazes, oxides, terracotta

They were already broken when I started working with these very delicate pieces of porcelains mixed with different soils. I put them back in the fire a few times until I found a perfect balance. I wanted to preserve a bit of a primitive gesture.  The oval is organic, the form is simple, but then there is a brutal tear in the middle.  It opens the pieces in two, it expresses a tearing apart and a bringing back together. There is a tension held.
